Envisioned in 2009,
The origin,
Introduced in the early 2000s, arose a young intelligent individual who became addicted to the world of entertainment despite having to share majority of game gadgets and consoles with his siblings.
Brilliant enough to fulfill the urge, when introduced to the internet entertainment world in 2005 (4th grade), by taking advantage of the elementary computer privileges to simultaneously complete school work while strengthening computer senses, reflexes and abilities by playing games, surfing the internet while completing the given tasks, anonymously kept from the instructors.
History repeats itself over a decade later during college courses. But before the college courses, came the opportunity to make history in the competitive gaming industry.
Sacrificing a majority of the high school teenage experience, arose an individual wizard who's reflexes made such an impact that compeletly diverted his attention from actual life to focus on the esport world, or in other words, the virtual life, which at the time didn't seem like an ethical investment to his life, and he knew he'd be risking his graduation, social life, possible embarrassment and friends. Yes it's embarrassing to show up at 11am -1pm when school opens at 8am and ends at 2pm.
It came to the point where this individual had particular teachers and counselors calling his mother and making sure that his mother gave the phone to this individual to wake up for school. These sacrifices, others couldn't understand if you haven't been there.
He asked his guidance counselor for assistance, and she did her job. He notified the cousnelor that he couldn't sleep at night, which resulted in him oversleeping, waking up different times day but definitely not early. She knew he'd play games all night as well, even when his mother used to plug out the router, that still didn't work.
One day his guidance counselor tells him, "you won't be tired at night if you don't have a productive day."
Today we want to thank the guidance couselor for seeing what he couldn't, for breaking the addiction to the virtual world, and for compromising class schedules that worked with his schedule.
With approximately 1.5 years of high school left junior year (11th grade), he turned his life around. Showing up for early classes, going to after school (pm school), studying day and night for the regent exams, writing about call of duty black ops on his English regents exam & passing.
We want to say thank you to those instructors, counselors, and his mother. Although he lost years of his life to the entertainment world, this same portfolio from his prime moments over a decade ago contributed to his vision and success today, and it shows.
